Who you are dealing with

Apologetics Central is operated by Reformeer, which provides the AI, the library and the Bible tools behind this site. Your account, your conversations and any subscription are held on Reformeer and work identically on either site.

What the service is

Reading the articles, the benchmark and the open data files requires no account. Signing in gives you the AI, your saved conversations, and the Bible and library readers.

The AI is a study aid. It retrieves from Scripture, the confessions and a fixed library, and cites what it uses so you can open the source and check it. It is not infallible, it is not a minister, and it does not stand in for your elders, your congregation or the courts of the church. Check what it tells you against the sources it names.

Subscription, billing and cancellation

Reformeer Plus is a monthly subscription charged in South African rand through Paystack, who process the card. We never see or store your card details.

It renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the account menu, which opens Paystack's own page for the subscription; cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Plus until the end of the period you have paid for.

If something is charged in error, or a payment goes through for a service that did not work, write to us and we will refund it. We do not otherwise refund a period that has already been used, because you had the service for it.

What you may do with the material

The articles are ours to publish and yours to read, quote and link. Quote freely with attribution and a link; do not republish an article whole.

Some articles quote other authors at length, and a small number reproduce another author's work with attribution. Those passages belong to their authors, not to us, and should be credited to them.

The works in the library belong to their own authors and publishers. Books published under our imprint are the property of their authors and of the imprint.

Using the AI reasonably

Use is per person. Do not share an account, script the service, resell its output as a product, or use it to generate material that misrepresents what the Reformed confessions teach.

Usage limits apply and are shown in the app. We may suspend an account that is being used to abuse the service, and will say why.

Changes

We may change these terms as the service changes. Material changes will be dated here, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.
