What this is

Apologetics Central was founded in 2014 to study and defend the Reformed faith. It is now three things: an AI that does the work of study with you, a decade of writing on presuppositional apologetics, and an imprint.

The AI is not a question box. It prepares a sermon from a text, works an exegesis before anyone applies the passage, takes a Hebrew or Greek word through a lexicon of 14,197 entries, locates a passage in the storyline of Scripture, states a doctrine confessionally, and drafts or critiques an order of service. It reads two Bible translations with the original languages beneath them, 307,654 cross-references, the confessions, and 226 works of Reformed theology.

Where we stand

We stand in the tradition of presuppositional apologetics: the Christian worldview is not one hypothesis among many to be weighed on neutral ground, but the precondition of intelligibility itself. There is no neutral ground, because there is no fact that is not already God-interpreted.

Our confessional standards are the historic Reformed confessions: the Westminster Standards and the Three Forms of Unity — the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism and the Canons of Dort.

Why the AI is different

General-purpose AI answers questions of faith from the open internet, and it shows: it hedges where Scripture is plain, and it treats every tradition as equally weighted. Ours retrieves from a fixed library first — Scripture, the confessions, and the Reformed corpus — and answers from what it finds, citing every claim so you can open the source and check it.

That difference is measurable, not asserted. CREDO is an open benchmark that graded six AI systems against the Three Forms of Unity under two independent judges.

Who maintains it

Apologetics Central was founded and is maintained by Arne Verster. It is now part of Reformeer, which builds software for Reformed churches and provides the AI, the library and the Bible tools behind this site.
